Product Safety

Every toy launched into the UK market must conform to the Toy Safety Directive, written by The European Commission for Toy Safety. Compliance to the Toy Safety Directive is a legal requirement which is demonstrated by Orchard Toys through regular testing to the EN71 Harmonised Toy Safety Standards.

Like many other manufacturers, we take our toy safety responsibilities very seriously. We work closely with STR who are one of the largest UKAS accredited testing laboratories based in the UK.

In addition to our regular safety testing programme, we are a member of the British Toy and Hobby Association (BTHA).  This means that we have to comply with the strict code of practice set by the BTHA and allows us to display the Lion Mark.
