5 out of 5 stars A lovely gift!

By Maggy Woodley

We were lucky enough to be given Red Dog, Blue Dog and it was an instant hit with my son. He was two at the time and just loved looking at all the different cards (in fact running around with a fist full of cards is very attractive at that age). What impressed me however, is that he was prepared to sit down and engage in some basic rules.

The aim of the game: Each player gets a board with six fun images on it. They take turns to collect the cards to match the images. A little bit bingo style. You can vary the rules to suit you (well, we do) and either turning it into a simple matching game (find the Red Dog), a chance game (turn over the next card and shout something like bingo if it matches your board) or a 'collect all the spiders/green cards' game. A great way to learn colours and to follow basic rules. My son is now almost three and of course still enjoys playing with it!

A lovely gift!

My kids love this game. We play it endlessly and they never get bored. Very simple, but very entertaining.

4 out of 5 stars Simple games, play with many ways

By ET Speaks From Home

The objective is to be the first player to fill their playing board with the correct matching cards. There are a few ways of playing: we can play it like bingo, sorting activity or matching colour/animals.

Each player chooses a board with six fun images on it. These are a dog, spider, rabbit, car, teddy and a flower. They take turns to collect the cards to match the images. If the card matches a picture on the player's board, they place it over the same picture on their board. If the card does not match, it is returned to the table, face downwards. Play then moves on to the next player. The game ends when a player collects the six images on their board.

It has clear packaging which describes the contents so you know exactly what you are getting for your money. The boards are thick and durable, which should make it long lasting.
In this video, we showed a couple of different ways to play this game. For the lotto game, the picture cards should be placed in a central pile or spread out face downwards on the table. For the sorting game, you can ask your children to name the picture cards or sort them out in colour or same pictures.

Red dog, blue dog retails at £9.50 which we think is good value for money. It will make a good game to play on a long journey like in an airplane or train for young children as it was not too heavy to pack it in your hand luggage or child's bag (minus the box). I gave them a 4 stars out of 5.

This is one of the first Orchard Toys games we ever played. It's a bingo game which encourages young children to match pictures and colours. Really great game for young toddlers!

5 out of 5 stars Great game

By Kevin W.

Red Dog, Blue Dog has been all the craze since receiving it. Red Dog, Blue Dog is a fun learning game that encourages children to observe, communicate, share and play together. This game certainly had all of us talking to each other. The kids got so excited while playing this game they couldn't wait for their turn to come back around.

5 out of 5 stars Great game, better service

By Simon

My mother-in-law bought this for my 17 month old as something she'd "grow into". She can't play properly yet, but she already loves finding the right pictures on command ("where is the dog?") and putting them on the board, and is starting to identify with colours too. Great to watch.

In our box there was unfortunately a few of the cards missing. I contacted Orchard and within 2 working days they'd dropped me an email to say they were posting the missing pieces.

As a result I'll be remembering this brand come birthdays and Christmas... Thanks Orchard Toys!
