For conscientious parents looking for a game that is both educational and fun, What's The Time Mr Wolf? is a great board game to develop analogue and digital time telling skills. Players must race their character around the board matching the times to the central clock - but watch out for the hungry wolf!

There are two ways to play this educational game - one by matching analogue times and moving the clock hands, and the second by matching digital times to analogue. What's the Time Mr Wolf features cute woodland animals which children will love, including bunnies and hedgehogs.

Excellent for improving time telling skills

Reviewed by The Breastest News on 26 October 2016

My son was initially a bit frustrated at playing this game because his time telling skills aren’t the best. He’s only beginning to learn about the time and trying to figure it out but once he had played a few games he started to recognise certain times and was managing very well to put the clock hands to the correct numbers in order to win the square card he wanted. With some patience on his part and more practice he won’t need my help soon.

This game is for 2-4 players and can take anywhere from 15-20 minutes to play depending really on how the dice is rolled and if you keep landing on Mr Wolf who eats all your cards. It’s a great game for encouraging concentration and observational skills as well as number and counting skills. I'd definitely recommend.

Learning time

Reviewed by Parents in Touch on 18 October 2016

As adults, we can forget how challenging it can be to learn to tell the time, especially as we use two totally different types of clock. This board game from the excellent Orchard Toys will help children develop both analogue and digital time telling skills, whilst enjoying a fun game. There are two game levels, which is good to see, and this makes the game suitable for children between the ages of 5 and 9. It's simple to set up - join together the jigsaw-type playing board and players' cards, and attach the hands to the clock face. The clock is a good size and the times are clearly marked.

I really like the way this game addresses the different methods we use to tell the time, helping children to relate them to one another. The illustrations are a really good point about the game - they show a range of cute woodland animals enjoying all sorts of activities; the playing pieces are animals too.

It's well made, on thick card and with pieces that easily pop out before first use. The game really does help to consolidate the learning of the different ways of telling the time, and if adults play along with children, there's plenty of opportunity to extend this key learning. Like all games, it encourages interaction, taking turns and concentration; it also encourages visual recognition and matching. All this, and children are thoroughly enjoying a fun time! An excellent game to help with an essential skill.

Fun and educational as well as being two games in

Reviewed by Over40andaMumtoOne on 12 October 2016

This is a fun and educational game, with added value as it is actually two games in one. Working on time telling skills, both on a clock face and digitally, my son has really enjoyed playing both versions of the game.

Very educational and fun!

Reviewed by ClearlyBex on 19 September 2016

My kids love playing this game, they like the aspect of matching the times correctly by the games challenge of making the big clock match what the digital clock says and also being the first to collect 4 times to become the winner. I like the fact that they enjoy the fun value they get from the game with also the educational value mixed in with it. My kids have been playing this game for just over a fortnight now and I am already seeing the benefits from them such a little but valuable life skill!
